The City has been engaging the community for their input on gradually transitioning from ornamental turf and other water-thirsty plantings to a more sustainable design. This may include drought tolerant, California-friendly plantings, and landscape elements such as boulders, decorative gravel, and cobblestones. Conceptual landscape drawings, guided by input already received from the community, have been developed and are ready for review by the Planning Commission. The Planning Commission will be reviewing these conceptual plans at an upcoming meeting and will be asked to provide input to the City Council. The final landscape concept plans will be presented to the City Council for their consideration at a later date. The public is invited to attend the Planning Commission Meeting scheduled for Wednesday, January 11, 2017 at 6:30 PM in the Council Chambers, 4845 Casa Loma Avenue.
